HOW TO MAKE HIGH-QUALITY RENDER

MAKE YOUR FRACTAL, PLAY WITH IT UNTILL YOU GET TO SOMETHING YOU LIKE AND YOU WISH TO MAKE AN IMAGE OF IT TO SHOW US ALL....

THEN...

GO UP TO THE TOP LEFT OF THE TOOLBAR AND YOU WILL SEE AN ORANGE CIRCLE (render)... CLICK ON IT

AND THE RENDER BOX WILL OPEN UP...

1. SET THE DESTINATION FOR YOUR FILE TO BE SAVED AT. AND NAME YOUR FILE (I.E. BANANA.JPG)...make sure you KEEP the " .jpg " ending to your file's name!

2. SET THE SIZE WIDTH TO 800
this is a good size of image to post on the web and it takes realy fast to render.
if you want a bigger file in print quality you can set the SIZE to bigger values, just remember the biger your file the longer it'll take for it to render.

3. CLICK RENDER

NOW THE RENDER WILL START AND A NEW WINDOW WILL OPEN

ON THE BOTTOM OF THIS WINDOW YOU CAN SEE THE RENDER DURATION AND THE REMAINING TIME TO IT'S FINISH...
USUALY A 800 WIDTH FILE TAKES ABOUT 2 MINUTES TO RENDER.
EVEN IF IT TAKES LONGER...YOU CAN KEEP MAKING FRACTALS WHILE THE SOFTWARE RENDERS !!!!! SO YOU NEVER HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE RENDER ENDS...YOU JUST "SEND" IT TO RENDER IN THE BACKGROUND AND KEEP FLUFFING WITH THE TRIANGELS AND VARIATIONS LIKE THERE'S NO TOMMOROW Wink

4. WHEN THE RENDER ENDS...YOU WILL FIND THE JPG FILE IN THE SPECIFIED DESTINADION...READY TO UPLOAD AND IN EXELLENT QUALITY.

Hi A, Grin

Forgive me asking this on here but thought it might be best for anyone else who has the same problem...Like that's going to happen..LOL...

I've just rendered my fractal this way and I did everything you said but there was no change at all. Is this because I didn't change the value from 5 to 100 as you have done in your screen shot. (You do know the value I mean yes? Next to the blue bow type thing, which when you hover your arrow over, comes up with "Reset location F12")

Anyway as I said I left mine at 5, I think once you advised having this number set low so changes to your fractal would be a lot quicker.

I thought if I did what you said it would be OK to leave it at 5.... I mean if I change it to 100 or 200 or whatever is that not rendering it twice... thus having to wait twice as long... Or, can I change that value from 5 to something higher, then do the high quality render without waiting for any changes to take place after I've changed the value?

Hope this makes sense... I mean it's OK for me cos I know what I mean, but poor little you trying to follow that... well.... LOL...

Thanks loads,

Hugs, Kiai xx

this is the place for such questions Kiai !
and somehow I have no problems understanding you Wink

there is NO relation between the drop down 5 to 100 window and the render function.
as you can see in these rendering instructions there is no refference to the drop down window's values.
it realy doesn't matter at all on what value you work in the preview...when you go and render your fractal (the way these instructions advise) you will get the quality of the image according to the quality you specify in the render window (where the 1,2,3 steps are marked).

about the preview quality...that little drop down window...I usualy recommend to work with it set to 50!
when you set it to 5...it works fastest but the display quality is too low...for my opinion.
you can work with 50 quality and get a duration of about 5 seconds of rendering and enjoy very detailed preview display...I even work sometimes with 100 quality. but that's less important and everyone can find it's own combination here.

In any case...the drop down window and the render function are two SEPERATE functions.

if, when you start render the way I recomend and it seems to take too long for it to render (more than 4 minutes) I advise you to read the important issues at lesson #1 !

Hi A, Grin

OK then, if the drop down box doesn't count, how come my fractal didn't change at all?.. LOL, I waited ages and nothing happened... Ho hum... Undecided

I'm so glad you understood what I meant... Either you're lying or very clever...LOL... I'll go with clever... extremely clever...

lol

try using this flame and see if you find difference between the rendered image and the preview.

LOL HOLD ON HERE A...BEFORE YOU REPLY TO THE BELOW MESSAGE...I THINK I SEE WHAT I DID WRONG.
I AM NOW RENDERRING AGAIN AND IT LOOKS CLEAR...LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS AND AS SOON AS THE
RENDER IS DONE I WILL POST IT HERE AND EXPLAIN WHAT I DID WRONG..THEN MORE FORUM MEMBERS
CAN SEE THAT IF YOU FORGET ONE LITTLE THING IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE...I WILL BE BACK HERE
LATER WITH THE NEW RENDER WHICH LOOKS GREAT SO FAR... RIA

Hello A...I have a question for you and decided to put it here rather than on my page or your page so that
eveyone could learn from my mistakes too....see we all make them  LOL..
You remarked on my light blue fractals and said that the long render would make them glow..
I love using the long render but am short of time for the summer...anyway just to see what would
happen..I took one of the blue baloon files and re-renderred it with not much improvement..I actually
renderred it the long way three times and it is still very grainy.....I took screen shots of the renders
(only 2) I forgot to take the first one...and I am uploading the image of the fractal and also the
screenshots of how I rendered them....Perhaps some of my numbers are off...thank you always for your
help and time....huggies...ria

PS zoom was set to -0.5

YOU WERE SO RIGHT...HERE WE GO..AND THEY DO GLOW   A......LOOK AT WHAT I DID WRONG.
I REMEMBERED ALL THE SETTINGS BUT AGAIN I FORGOT THE DROP DOWN BOX BEFORE I
RENDERED AND LEFT IT AT 5.....THEN WHEN I SAW THE MISTAKE AND CHANGED IT TO 100
RIGHT BEFORE THE RENDER...THIS IS THE RESULTS...THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH...
I DO HAVE A "THICK HEAD"  LOL........HUGGIES...RIA
I ALSO HOPE EVERYONE ELSE LEARNS FROM OUR MISTAKES....Smiley

OH  A  I AM A BIT CONFUSED...I JUST WENT AND LOOKED AT MY IMAGE ON MY PAGE AND IT IS AS GOOD AS THIS
ON ( I THINK ) BUT WHAT IS NOT AS GOOD AS THIS IS THE PARAMETER...THIS PARAMETER WILL
GIVE YOU A CLEAR BRIGHT IMAGE AND THE ONE ON MY PAGE I BELIEVE WILL BE FUZZY....
NOT SURE.....Smiley

Right I give in...LOL...

What exactly was I supposed to do with that beautiful heart flame?

I'll tell you what I did. First I left it as it was with 100 in the drop down box and rendered it with the very same values as you have in the instructions above... Nothing changed.

Then I changed the drop down box to 5, cos I had to try it this way as well...LOL... I rendered again with the same values you have in the instructions above.. Nothing changed..

Now you know that this fractal will render to perfection so what am I doing wrong?

I guess it doesn't really matter cos I can render the other way and print screen/paste/crop etc but I would like to know what I'm doing wrong.

If the drop down box doesn't affect the outcome how come it won't render properly when I use your instructions... I mean I know your instructions are correct as you use them... therefore it must be me... what's new?...LOL

Thank you for everything A, I much appreciate your time, effort, patience and expertise.. Cheesy

I'll tell you what else... With this flame I entered a really high value in the drop down box but it rendered really quickly... but mine take ages... Is this something to do with the size of the picture? I think maybe yes... so I need to be playing with the zoom and scale.. am I right?.... Cheesy

Ria...there's a great improvement in quality between the first and the second image you uploaded here...
but as I've written in my previous message...the drop down box values (whethere it's set to 5 or to 100) should not influence the quality of the image that the Apophysis renders.
the drop down box only influence the quality of the Apo preview display window!

I have a hunch about something...
tell me...what written in the DESTINATION (where no.1 points in this image) box when you click on the render orange circle?

if you'll go to the folder specified in that destination...you might find there all your rendered fractals !
