Hi A....it will say there........C:\ApophysisImageScript(here I put the name..like..rome).png
my file that all is saved to is named ApophysisImageScript...and the computer seems to know to send everything there...so that is ok...so then I guess I am doing it all right except the slower render is absolutely better than the fast since the paramater file is what everyone wants to use to make new images...so that flame file is important..and renderring it long will produce a better script file....RIGHT...?....IF I AM NOT RIGHT I WILL SHOOT MYSELF....ROFLMBO....HEE HEE JUST KIDDING...NOT WORTH DYING OVER....I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU....YOU MUST HAVE A LOT OF HEADACHES A......AND NO FRACTAL TIME...POOR TEACHER.....HUGGIES...RIA THIS MESSAGE ABOVE IS WHEN I SAVE THE PNG FILE.. _______________________________________________________________________________
OH A....PS......ON SAVING PARAMETER AFTER IT IS RENDERED THE FLAME READS LIKE THIS
C:\ApophysisImagScript\LimeWithSeedPearls.Flame

Ria...don't shoot yourself!...but the .flame parameter file has NOTHING to do with the rendering we're now dealing with! the .flame is .flame, and an image is an image!
now...in the destination box, you say that the file's name ends up with a .png ! .png is also an image type of file, similar to .jpg...but I've never seen you upload here a .png file, you always upload here jpg files...so where are all your rendered png files? (you should find them in your ApophysisImageScript folder!)
I want you to make a test... open a new folder for the rendered images...put this new and empty folder somewhere you like and give it a nice name. now go to the apophysis...chose a nice fractal and click the orange circle to render it but before you click "render" change the destination to that new folder you have opened and make sure your file's name (in the same #2 DESTINATION box) ends with .jpg (and not .png) also make sure your width set to 800 (just like the 3 steps instructions advise) wait till it finish rendering and when it does...go to the new folder and you should find there the RENDERED JPG image.
tell me how it goes!

Right I give in...LOL...
What exactly was I supposed to do with that beautiful heart flame?
I'll tell you what I did. First I left it as it was with 100 in the drop down box and rendered it with the very same values as you have in the instructions above... Nothing changed.
Then I changed the drop down box to 5, cos I had to try it this way as well...LOL... I rendered again with the same values you have in the instructions above.. Nothing changed..
Now you know that this fractal will render to perfection so what am I doing wrong?
I guess it doesn't really matter cos I can render the other way and print screen/paste/crop etc but I would like to know what I'm doing wrong.
If the drop down box doesn't affect the outcome how come it won't render properly when I use your instructions... I mean I know your instructions are correct as you use them... therefore it must be me... what's new?...LOL
Thank you for everything A, I much appreciate your time, effort, patience and expertise..
I'll tell you what else... With this flame I entered a really high value in the drop down box but it rendered really quickly... but mine take ages... Is this something to do with the size of the picture? I think maybe yes... so I need to be playing with the zoom and scale.. am I right?....
Hugs, Kiai xx yes Kiai, you're sunshine right! if it takes you too long to render in the main window (the preview) you better zoom out to -0.5 or -0.9 and then scale up a little in order to enlarge your fractal again...just like written in lesson #1.
now look how the quality changes when I render.... the first image (preview100.jpg) is a capture of the main window while the drop down box is set to 100 and the second image (rendered.jpg) is the rendered file that the Apo saved in the destination marked in the destination box.
did you also "missed" step #4 in my instructions

oh Kathryn...it seems to me that you've copied the whole destination as it was written in the image i uploaded i mean the : E:\MyDoc\Apo (I'll call this part of the File name: directory, in this post) this tells your pc to try and save the image ON MY PC...! LOL obviously it's impossible
the directory is just a folder's location!
this means that you have to open a folder on your pc (or chose an existing one, like "my pictures") that you wish to save your fractal images in. once you opened (or chosed) such folder...you need to write it's directory in the File name box the easiest way is to brouse the folder with clicking on the little yellow folder icon on the right side of the File name box. when you specify the directory, then you add the Blue fractal.jpg at the end and click Render.
when the Apo finish to render...you go and open the folder and you'll find there the Blue fractal.jpg file
it is simple, but if you don't have a lot of experience with computer you can get confused I advise you to not let go of it untill you succeed.. I'm here for your help!

Just one more question for you A - Can I still save them to "My Documents"? Because that is where I have been storing the fractal images.
