OK A... hope it's alright to post these fractals here... They were just made quickly as I couldn't wait to try the new way....LOL... The first one is done the old way... as you can see by the title.... Tongue The second one was done the high quality way but I forgot to change the size when I opened the render window.. Undecided I haven't actually seen them together so haven't a clue how they look...Ooohh what if there's no difference Shocked...LOL... I zoomed down to -0.5 or thereabouts and scaled up but it still took 10 minutes.... And just to be sure... it wasn't cos I had the drop down box on 200 was it?....SORRY....LOL... A? A?... Don't hit the computer like that, I can't feel it so you're wasting your time...LOL.... hee hee Grin

Just one more question for you A - Can I still save them to "My Documents"?  Because that is where I have been storing the fractal images.

of course Kathryn...you can save the file wherever you want
just "tell it" where to save the file and it'll do so.

Kiai...

I told it once and i'll tell it again...there's no relation between the drop down box and the Render function.
now, with NO relation to the Render...there is NO such thing as 200 quality in the drop down box...you must have written it manualy...I think that it stands for nothing lol...the maximum quality is 100 Smiley

one more thingy...your fractal looks very blurry...please click on the OPTIONS icon
and in the Options window make sure the values are as follows:

I suspect that your Filter radius value is too high Smiley

and don't forget to set the width to 800 or 700 (I can see if you did it when you upload the image...it's size is written! be wared!! Cheesy )

and it shouldn't take you more than 4 minutes to render the image

c'mon...let me see some sprout to my sweat...LOL Wink

and I don't hit my screen...I will just smile quietly when YOU'LL instruct the next generations  Tongue Cool

LOL, Grin many thanX A... I will have a look at the things you say.. I promise.. Yes I did put 200 in manually... Won't do it again...hahahaa

Right so all I need to do now is make a half decent fractal then try to render as instructed... I promise faithfully I will follow the instructions to the letter... I'm really quite scared.. it feels as though you're sitting behind me and if I do anything wrong you'll flick my ear by way of punishment.... OUCH!!....LOL... Grin

LOL... what's a bingle?.. Undecided Oh, hahaha, I just Googled bingle and I won't say what the results were... sheessshhhh...hahahahaa

I can't believe the stupid mistakes I've made.. Obviously if I don't know what I'm doing I can't know it's a mistake...LOL... Funny though...

You are a very generous person A and I appreciate your help... I might not be turning out the most amazing fractals in the forum... but they are the best ones made on this computer in this house...LOL... guess that counts for something...

Thank you Grin

A, here are those fractals again... Smiley

First one with drop down box at 100 and the second one resized and I changed the values in the options>display thingy...LOL...Rendered as per your instructions... fingers crossed...LOL...

Here goes......  Grin

P.S. It still took longer than 4 minutes... I will have a look at the settings again... but it does look better, don't you think... It's great seeing a difference... even if the fractal ain't all that.... Tongue

oh...Bravo Kiai !

the difference in quality is bright and clear.

now no matter which fractal you make you can get it in this smooth quality Grin
and of course, now that you can do this...you can chose which way you prefer to use and when,
you can keep on capturing the the fractal the old way and once in a while when you get a cooly fractal to render it and let us see it in it's perfect appearance.

you can as well render some fractals in larger sizes to various uses
such as 1024x768 for desktop wallpaper
or even larger than that for print purpose.

and for the bingle...my gosh! haha
I was trying to invent a meaningless word  Cheesy
next time I'll google my "genuine" vocabulary before publishing a linguistic innovation... LOL

LOL A........LMBO.....I think we need a fractal vocabulary....make a dictionary on here just for fractal nuts like us
so we all know what we are speaking about...hee hee.........like if I say...today I did "didely squat"   it means
I did absolutely nothing today..........which is NOT true...hahahaha..but I think a fractal dicitonary is in order...
ROFLMBO...you and Kiai make quite a pair...I am in stitches ( meaning..laughing my head off...hee hee)
huggie ria...off to post my lime series......Smiley

LMAO....LOL.... hahahahaaa...did you Google bingle?... That is just the funniest thing... *Ahem, obviously you didn't Google it first...LMAO....

Oh and you're so kind A... about my fractal... As I say I'll check out the settings once again... Anyway I like rendering your way as the size is better... When I print screen etc I may end up with more background on one side than the other... Your way is more equal... yes, that's what I mean... equal...LOL... Grin....

bingle..... LMAO

Once again many thanks for your help A. Like I told Janet - I am still not quite sure of the science behind this whole fractal fun - except that I am just moving those triangles and and hoping for a cool image to post here at the forum. I am not sure if I ever will understand the high quality render thing - but I guess that I will just keep reading everything till I am blue in the face!!! LOL  Tongue

OK, i used the render described here and it worked just as A described it would.  My render took 10 minutes, LOL!  But I know why...  I used the 64 bit instead of 32, and also I set the quality to 4000 instead of 2000.  I unfortunately forgot to set the size larger, but the image looks amazingly smooth!  Cheesy

Woo-Hoo!  It saves the flame, too!  I finally KNOW how to do this!  ThanX, "A"!  Cheesy

Kathryn, the high render is awesome and makes a big difference!  Make a new folder on your desktop by right clicking and hitting "new", then name it what you like (I called mine "renders", lol!)  Then, follow "A"s instructions, and make sure that you make the path in Apophysis pointing to your new folder, my path is as follows...

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\RENDERS\

Then, at the end of the path you type in what you want to name your fractal, like this...

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\RENDERS\1stRender.jpg

Then, you just hit the render button.  When it is done, you go into your render folder you made on the desktop, and the image is in there and so is the flame file for it!  Cheesy

Hope this helps,
"X"
